Oh dear. Day two of the blog and not really anything to report.
If this was a phone line, you would be on hold listening to a pan-pipe version of Greensleeves and being told that “your call is important to us”.......as it is you’ll just have to be content with a shorter update than yesterday.
What I can tell you is that, on the list of things that bring on labour, curry currently rates higher than Raspberry Leaf Tea.
As with curry, I am not sure of the science behind Raspberry Leaf Tea as a labour induction device. We had been told that it tasted grim – so maybe the logic is that the baby is driven out by the shock of having disgusting cups of tea instead of curry as its evening snack?? Fact is though that, far from tasting grim, Raspberry Leaf Tea is actually a rather nice refreshing beverage that I can recommend to non-pregnant friends and family alike. Other fact is that Ceri drank a cup and nothing happened, so:
Curry 1 – 0 Raspberry Leaf Tea
I suggested to Ceri that maybe the reason that the baby isn’t coming out is that the food is too good where it is. Currently it’s getting a steady supply of home-baked cakes, fresh strawberries with ice cream, Levi Roots curries, Innocent Smoothies, American Brunches (thanks Sacha!!!) etc etc.....now, would you leave that restaurant in favour of one that has a grand total of one option on the menu: MILK??!!! Nah – nor would I !!!
With this in mind, and given we have tried everything else, I voiced the plan that Ceri eats and drinks nothing but milk from now on – so that the baby knows that food on offer from the inside is now exactly the same as the food on offer on the outside. I’ll let you know how that approach goes.......
See you tomorrow unless there is news today.
